I am currently looking in to what film to use for our next movie night.
Also, I am hoping to get a start on some other movie reviews going on. Just movies that I watch on my own, just to have the review around in case someone wants or needs it.
If you have a movie you want to know about drop me a line and we will go from there.

Hey Everybody,
We will be watching Fireproof on Jan. 30th. Followed by a discussion about the film and… well, faith! : ) Anyways, here is a synopsis of the film…

Rating: PG (for thematic material and some peril)
Genre: Drama
Run Time: 122 Mins.
Director: Alex Kendrick
Actors: Kirk Cameron, Erin Bethea, Ken Bevel, Bailey Cave, Jason McLeod, Jim McBride, Harris Malcolm, Phyllis Malcolm
Capt. Caleb Holt lives by the firefighters adage: Never leave your partner behind…
But facing a divorce, Caleb’s father asks him to try an experiment: The Love Dare. While hoping the dare has nothing to do with his parents new faith, he commits to the challenge. Can he stick to his motto? Or will their marriage go up in smoke?
And, here is a review of the film…
There has been plenty of talk from both ends of the scales on this movie. Talk about how great it is that we can have morals and values inside of a good movie. But more talk about how the fact that it has morals and values, makes it almost instantly a bad and boring movie.
I happened to LOVE this flick, and think that alot of people would enjoy it. It has to deal with real life situations and feelings, and if you’ve been there….you get it. Plus, it has action, drama, and humor.
This is a great movie for anyone who is, or isn’t married. It has an good gospel message ( oh the critic’s LOVE that…) and I think everybody can glean something from this movie.
-Hell is mentioned twice, as in the place.
– No drug or alcohol use.
-It has a couple mentionings of pornography, husband and wife kissing, and married man flirts with married woman.
-No Nudity.
-Man takes out anger by smashing different household items; woman has bloody nose from car accident; a house fire scene with an exciting rescue; firefighter sustains burns during rescue.
After we watch the film I will post the discussion questions.
